About Finster
Formation
Finster is a hard-hitting three piece band formed in 2021 by drummer Seppo Salminen, and guitarist Ron Lemarie. Frontman Ernie Grimes was acquired for lead vocals, and Thomas K Stone on bass guitar. Finster has grown into a favourite local band that has quickly generated a following in the Newmarket area. An electic mix of classic songs can be expected during their entertaining gigs, which are often subject to signature Finster interpretation. No song is ever played the same way twice!!

Ernie Grimes - Lead Vocals
Ernie Grimes - the living legend. In the early 70's Ernie began his musical career as a drummer. Influenced by the voices of Elvis and the Beatles he discovered his true calling was singing. During his professional career Ernie has shared the stage with many Canadian icons. He continues to front many projects around the GTA, in vocal styles ranging from R&B to Rock and Roll!
Ron Lemarie - Guitar+Vocals
Ron's musical journey began at a young age after spying a lonely guitar gathering dust at a friend's house. Founding member of The Twangsters, Ron is highly regarded as a lead guitarist. To an often cheering audience, his energetic solos drive Finster performances to edgy heights. An audiophile aficionado, Ron's insane vinyl collection is a constant source of inspiration.
Seppo Salminen - Drums+Vocals
Seppo is a Crystal Award and Maja Award winning drummer, as well as a Juno Award nominee and producer at RNM Productions. He established TRS Custom Drums in 1985. A founding member of The Penny Merchants, he has worked closely with The Rolling Stones, The Tragically Hip, Max Weinberg, and the Canadian Blues Brothers Band. The latest album for "Joe's Conscience", Seppo's personal project, is due for release soon.
Thomas K Stone - Bass+Vocals
Playing in the deep end of the sonic pool is Thomas. Hailing from Toronto, Thomas has played in numerous bands including Hemlock Tea and GTR. Career highlights include a Maja Award and performing in the live production for Jesus Christ Superstar.
